Interview

So...

The fiction book that I am currently re-reading is Aldous Huxley's Brave New World.
It is a very strange book, based in a futuristic world where everyone is a clone and the clones are separated into groups. Each group is made from a different DNA and experiences different kinds of conditioning whilst growing up. for instance lots of manual labour to gain food if they are to be a hard worker or electrocuted once a day when a flower is placed in their room if they don't want them to be curious about the outside world and countryside.
I have tried to finish the book countless times now but whilst reading it I inevitably end up being inspired as it is a very thought provoking book, in the end I'll be just flicking through the pages thinking intensely and then start a project and forget where exactly in the book I was.

I recently started reading the book 'A theory of fun for game design' by Raph Koster to help me with my current university course in computer game design.
In the book the author talks about his own experiences with games as a child and as an adult watching his own children learn and get bored with games.
So far other subjects have been about how the brain works and how it is a pattern seeking machine.
I have not finished it yet but I will soon no doubt as it is very interesting and doesn't have too much writing on each page. Yet again it is a book that i get distracted from because of the thought proving subject matter.

The last live performance I saw was a live show performed by the three main characters from the television show 'Trailer Park Boys'. There are seven seasons of the show, two films and a few hour long specials as well as an episode they made prior to having the show.
I cant say much about the show as it was mostly a lot of in-character talking about what they have been up to after the last film and their adventure on the way over here which led to them being arrested. They are famous for always staying in character, especially at special appearances they do at bars and clubs around the US and Canada.
Unfortunately I had to miss the second half of the show as there were problems with the tubes that day and I think I missed the best bits.

The last film I watched was American Psycho, which I have been meaning to watch for quite a few years now but never had the chance until my new flatmate offered to lend it to me. I thought it was amazing and raises a lot of questions towards the end.

Since |I have moved to university I have not read a newspaper unfortunately but I used to read The Sun when it was laying around the house. Personally I prefer to get my news from the World Service on BBC Radio 4 or the Guardian.

The last art gallery I visited was the Tate modern last year as I like to pop in there whenever Iam in London and have the opportunity, I don't like most the work but sometimes there is something I think is great, either way it does create a lot of dialog between me and my friends and sometimes other random people who do appreciate the art there.

I tend to play computer games at least 5-6 hours a day and a lot more on weekends or if I have a new game that intrigues me. Often I play games on my phone if Iam bored and out of the house, I recently downloaded Loco Roco for my phone which was amazing on the PSP and really fun on my phone using the motion sensor thing to tilt my phone and thus tilt the level making the character roll in the chosen direction.

I don't often play games which aren't computer games, apart from on occasion when I find someone who loves chess or monopoly as much as me or when I am drinking. I know a lot of interesting drinking games and sometimes me and my friends just make our own like drinking along to TV shows with set rules or Shot-opoly which is just monopoly but with special rules for when to do shots of vodka.
